Terry Eidson for BPU At Large Position

In explaining his reasons for running for the BPU board in the at large position, Eidson cites his passion and commitment to the Kansas City/Wyandotte County community, his pleasure with the recent explosion of positive growth and economic development within the County, and his ongoing desire to be involved in community service.

Eidson Brings Business Experience to Bear on Tackling BPU Issues
"I believe my business experience and record of community service and involvement uniquely qualify me for service on the BPU board; as a business owner, I know how important customer service is to the success of my business—I hope to apply that same sense of customer focus to the work of the BPU. If I have one driving initiative for change at the BPU, it is to require exceptional customer service for BPU customers, while at the same time working vigorously to reduce BPU expenses and to wisely spend BPU funds," Eidson says.
Eidson’s extensive experience in running a business, and his commitment to always trying to please his customers are the keys to his business philosophy, a philosophy he wishes to apply to the BPU.
"Running a successful business is all about valuing the customers, exceeding their expectations, and keeping costs down—in a nut shell, I believe in providing exceptional customer service and value, at the lowest cost possible, and in creating a mindset among BPU employees that they must follow these principles," says Eidson.
I am passionate about this community and the people who call Wyandotte County home. With your help, I’d like to apply my 37 years of business experience, focused on customer service, to the business of overseeing the effective operation of BPU’s electric and water utilities. My business philosophy is simple: value and appreciate customers, exceed customer expectations, charge the lowest prices possible, and run the business with integrity. I believe these values can be applied to improve the overall operation of the BPU, leaving an even greater community asset to the next generation of BPU customers.
